UPDATED x2: Heroes Season 3 to get UK simulcast with USA
As you know, Heroes Season 3 (Villains) is beginning on September 22nd on NBC in the USA. Well, it's just been confirmed by the BBC that season 3 of Heroes will begin on BBC 2 and BBC HD on September 25th, with just a 3 day gap between the episode airing stateside. This is obviously a slight improvement on the current 6 month broadcast gap that happened to seasons 1 and 2 and may also discourage illegal downloading of the episodes. Heroes is just closing the season 2 story-arc on BBC 2 and BBC HD and season 3 looks to be considerable longer than the mini 11 week stint of season 2, of course caused by the US Writers' Strike. Expect season 3 to comprise 24 episodes all 40 minutes in length (with 2 hour premieres and finales).
UPDATE 14/09/08 - More information since originally posted - It looks like the date is still TBA but it is going to be simulcast, so it shouldn't be longer than a weekly delay. Additionally, there appear to be only 13 or so episodes this time around.
UPDATE 2 18/09/08 - Start date announced - 9pm on BBC 2 and BBC HD on October 1

Literally straight from the horse's mouth. Well, the BBC press office actually. Must've been about a couple of months back now. But yes, it is good news!
The reason why this has happened is because with season 1, Sci-Fi channel had exclusive rights, season 2, they had shared rights with BBC. This time around, and mainly because the BBC has more cash, the rights are for simulcasting.
Each episode will probably air about 3-5 days after it airs in the U.S.
Well if this is true and it probably is, this is amazing news! Season 1 % 2 both were amazing. Season 3 will have a lot of catching up to do, but yeah, i cannot wait!!
